Job summary

Us3 Consulting is seeking hands-on IT Support Engineers, including MSSQL DBAs, to provide onsite technical support at manufacturing locations. The role focuses on day-to-day user support, desktop support and local IT troubleshooting, with involvement in Windows upgrades, device refreshes and network issues.

Candidates should be able to work independently onsite, handle 1st-3rd line support, and collaborate with local teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on IT support background in corporate or industrial settings.
• Familiar with Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Able to troubleshoot hardware, software and login/connectivity issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite 1st/2nd/3rd line IT support to users (depending on experience).
• Troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, peripherals and standard office apps.
• Support Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Assist users with hardware, software, login, connectivity and app issues.
• Support local networking and connectivity issues.
• Assist with Windows upgrades, PC refreshes and migration projects.
• Support local printers, scanners and other workplace tech.
• Provide basic support around Cisco networking.
• Support virtual environments such as VMware where required.
• Assist with MS SQL-related application/database issues and escalate when needed.
• Support MES/manufacturing systems used within the plant.
• Assist with CAD and engineering applications.
• Support backup/recovery tools, including Rubrik, where used.
• Log, manage and resolve incidents and service requests.
• Liaise with central IT teams and specialist support teams when escalation is required.
• Maintain local IT documentation and asset information.
• Support neighbouring sites where practical and geographically appropriate.
• Provide holiday/sickness cover where required.
• Experience in IT Support, Desktop Support, Service Desk, Field Support or Site Support or DBA.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365.
• Comfortable troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Basic networking knowledge.
• Good communication and customer-facing skills.
• Able to work independently onsite.
• Willingness to support users in a manufacturing / industrial environment.
