Our client is a global specialist in electric power conversion, supplying customers in 47 countries from offices, production sites, R&D centres and service hubs across Europe, the Americas and Asia. Central group functions sit in Germany and Kraków; the OEM business units operate from Bulgaria, the USA, Brazil and Japan. Fifty years of engineering history, and a renewable energy business that is still growing.
About the Role
You will lead IT for the group from Kraków, reporting to the Group CFO. This is a hands‑on management role with two halves: running a small IT team and the systems they support, and acting as the bridge between the business and its technology.
The core of the job is the group's business applications — Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central above all — plus the modern workplace built around Microsoft 365. You will own how those systems evolve: gathering what the business actually needs, prioritising it, managing the external partners who build it, and making sure people use what gets delivered.
This is delivery and adoption work, not architecture from an ivory tower. You will run workshops with Finance, Operations, Sales and HR, negotiate with vendors, and travel to other group locations when it matters.
What You Will Do
- Lead and develop a small IT team — set priorities, support their growth, keep day‑to‑day delivery moving.
- Own Dynamics 365 Business Central: monitor it, improve it continuously, and prioritise change requests across the group.
- Develop and run the group's digital workplace on Microsoft 365 — SharePoint, Power BI, and the rollout of AI tooling such as Copilot.
- Translate business into IT and IT into business: run requirement workshops with departments, turn what you hear into something buildable.
- Manage external IT providers for applications, infrastructure and services — scope, performance and contract negotiation.
- Deliver IT projects across group locations, from concept through rollout, training and adoption.
- Prepare and manage the IT budget, and identify where cost can come out without capability going with it.
- Improve process transparency through reporting and business‑relevant KPIs.
- Coordinate IT compliance - information security and data protection with the group's providers and specialist functions.
- Support the governance of AI and automation initiatives, including the data maturity needed to make them work.
