Job description

At Sourceful ICT we are looking for a Functional Consultant who will be responsible for bridging business needs with technology solutions in application development and IT product projects. This role requires independence and proactivity, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with business representatives, development teams, UX/UI specialists, and other project stakeholders.

The person in this role will be responsible for gathering and organizing business requirements, transforming them into functional requirements, preparing analytical and process-related materials, and translating them into a project backlog with precise task descriptions and acceptance criteria. An important part of the role will also be verifying delivered solutions in the QA environment and supporting both the team and the business in making the best product and project decisions.

What you will do:

• Gather, analyze, and refine business requirements in cooperation with business representatives and the development team

• Translate business requirements into clear and complete functional requirements

• Identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and inconsistencies in requirements

• Lead workshops, refinement sessions, discovery meetings, and clarification sessions with stakeholders

• Facilitate project meetings related to analysis, planning, and scope alignment

• Prepare process maps and descriptions of business flows to explain application logic and behavior

• Build and maintain the backlog in Jira or similar tools

• Prepare the necessary project and process documentation related to software development and release activities

• Prepare initial drafts, screen concepts, or proposed application solutions and present them to the business

• Align proposed solutions with the business and obtain acceptance

• Determine whether UX/UI Designer involvement is required and collaborate with UX/UI on preparing appropriate mockups or designs

• Support the team in selecting the best solution from a business, functional, and operational perspective

• Test implemented functionalities in the Quality/QA environment to confirm compliance with requirements

• Verify the completeness and quality of delivered items before business presentations or release to subsequent environments

• Cooperate with other teams involved in the project to define the scope of their engagement, dependencies, and expected contribution to ongoing work

• Support sprint planning, work scope planning, and backlog prioritization based on historical data, estimates, and team capacity

• When needed, lead Scrum-related activities

What you will bring:

• Experience in hybrid roles across Business Analyst/Functional Consultant/Product Owner/Project Manager in data-focused projects

• Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements and translating them into functional requirements

• Understanding of data management, data quality, and business process harmonization

• Experience working with business stakeholders, developers, testers, and UX/UI designers

• Ability to lead workshops, analytical meetings, and clarification sessions

• Ability to prepare process maps, flow diagrams, and functional and process documentation

• Experience in creating backlogs, user stories, tasks, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios

• Ability to prepare and present solution concepts to business stakeholders

• Experience in functional testing and validating solutions in QA environments

• Understanding of release management processes and production deployment activities

• Very good communication and interpersonal skills

• Very good command of English, both spoken and written
