Job summary

ALTEN Polska is seeking an experienced Software Architect to drive the software architecture planning for Electronic Power Steering, Steer-by-Wire systems, and AUTOSAR-based projects. You will transform customer and system requirements into robust embedded software designs, ensure compliance with ISO 26262, and lead design reviews with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 5+ years of AUTOSAR, embedded MCUs, and software architecture experience, with ISO 26262 familiarity.

• Lead the software architecture planning, design, and implementation for Electronic Power Steering, Systems, Steer-by-Wire systems (Handwheel Actuator and Roadwheel Actuator), and Software as a Product projects.

• Design and implement world-class embedded software using C in compliance with ISO 26262.
• Develop software architecture.
• Interface with OEMs to understand and influence design aspects impacting software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the software architecture planning, design, and implementation for Electronic Power Steering, Systems, Steer-by-Wire systems (Handwheel Actuator and Roadwheel Actuator), and Software as a Product projects.
• Analyze customer, system, and safety requirements to derive software project requirements.
• Design and implement world-class embedded software using C in compliance with ISO 26262.
• Develop software architecture.
• Integrate software components into AUTOSAR-based projects.
• Implement the software infrastructure as designed by the Software Architecture Team.
• Develop documentation in compliance with Automotive SPICE.
• Incorporate requirements traceability into software development activities.
• Interface with global cross-functional teams to understand requirements and review designs.
• Interface directly with OEMs to understand and influence design aspects impacting software.
• Participate in and lead design reviews.
• Participate in software process development activities.
• Review and understand technical references and data sheets for the system microcontroller.
• Maintain awareness of the impact on product quality and the importance of activities in achieving, maintaining, and improving quality, including customer requirements and risks associated with nonconforming products.
• Participate in the maintenance of IATF 16949 standards.
• Perform activities relative to company and group needs.
• Select and develop product designs.
• Design and develop software to meet customer specifications and requirements.
• Provide preventive and corrective actions.
• Participate in customer meetings.
• Develop and unit-test embedded code.

Key Authorities:

• Software architecture creation, review, and baselining.
• Interaction across Application (APP), Bootloader (FBL), Boot Manager (FBM), Hardware Security, Module (HSM), and Boot Updater (FBU) definition.
• Application, HSM, Bootloader, Boot Manager, and Boot Updater source code development,

Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience in software architecture development.
• Experience with AUTOSAR architecture and third‑party software stacks (MICROSAR, MCAL, HSM).
• Experience with memory management and diagnostic stacks.
• Experience in Flash Bootloader development and integration (preferably Vector Bootloaders) is mandatory.
• Experience with Vector‑based analysis and development tools (DaVinci Configurator, DaVinci Developer, CANoe, CANape).
• Experience with cross‑compilers and cross‑assemblers.
• Experience with 8‑bit, 16‑bit, and 32‑bit microcontrollers (Renesas, Infineon).
• Experience with embedded microcontrollers and common peripherals.
• Experience with formal configuration management tools.

Skills and Training:

• Strong understanding of software development techniques and methodologies.
• Working knowledge of CAN, UART, SPI, GPIOs, Timers, Watchdog, and Interrupt handling.
• Understanding of ISO 26262 functional safety concepts and their impact on software development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
• Strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with MISRA standards and verification tools.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay).
• Familiarity with CAN network analysis tools.
• Familiarity with maturity models such as A‑SPICE and/or CMMI is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with static analysis tools such as QAC and Polyspace is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with software safety mechanisms such as Memory Protection Units (MPU) and watchdogs is highly desirable.
