Job summary

MTU Aero Engines Polska invites applications for a data science role focused on ETL pipelines, ML-based deviation prediction, and anomaly detection. You will support simulation software, run independent projects, and collaborate with diverse teams while reporting to MTU Munich.

Ideal candidates hold a Data Science or Engineering degree, with strong Python, SQL and ML skills, and a willingness to operate in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Python, including NumPy, pandas and scikit-learn.
• Willingness to learn containerized applications and related tools.
• Familiarity with PyCharm, Tableau, Git and Linux.
• Experience in statistics, ML, ETL data collection and SQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and automate ETL pipelines and ML algorithms for parts deviation prediction and anomaly detection.
• Support in training and maintaining in-house simulation software.
• Independently execute projects with regular reporting.
• Participate in managing interdisciplinary teams and project tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and share best practices.
• Report regularly to MTU Munich, Germany.

Polish branch in Tajecina near Rzeszow is an integral part of the entire value chain, from engineering and technology (production engineering as well as design, analysis, project management, materials engineering) to production, assembly and repair.

Your responsibilities

• Development and automatization of ETL pipelines and machine learning algorithms for parts deviation prediction and anomaly detection,
• Support in training and maintenance of in-house developed simulation software,
• Independent execution of projects with regular reporting,
• Participation in management of interdisciplinary teams and execution of project tasks,
• Close cooperation with different teams and sharing of methods and best practices,
• Cooperation and regular technical reporting to MTU Munich, Germany.

Our requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification,
• Strong knowledge of Python, including NumPy, pandas and scikit-learn,
• Willingness to learn how to implement containerized applications,
• Familiarity with tools such as PyCharm, Tableau, Git and Linux,
• Experience in statistics and machine learning, data collection (ETL) and database management (SQL), preferably for shop floor data,
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes will be an advantage,
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation,
• Openness to qualification training in Munich,
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with a diverse, virtual team,
• Ability to work independently in an international environment,
• Very good written and spoken English, German is a plus,
