Indus Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan seeks an experienced Manager of Employee Relations to lead HR policy, investigations, and compliance for a large healthcare organization.

You will guide managers on performance issues, manage disciplinary processes, and ensure adherence to labor laws while maintaining high standards of integrity and confidentiality across HR operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8-10 years progressive HR experience, with at least 5-6 years in employee relations, labor relations, or HR compliance in a large organization.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices relevant to Pakistan and healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for employee relations issues across the hospital.
  • Lead investigations into employee complaints, harassment allegations, policy violations, and workplace disputes.
  • Advise managers on performance issues, disciplinary actions, terminations, and conflict resolution.
  • Develop, review, and update employee relations policies and the employee handbook.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal HR policies; minimize risk.
  • Manage the disciplinary and grievance process end-to-end with relevant stakeholders.
  • Track, analyze, and report employee relations metrics; recommend corrective actions.
  • Support exit interviews and analyze findings for retention improvements.
  • Maintain confidential documentation of all employee relations cases and outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of open communication and ethical conduct in line with IHHN's mission.

Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including grievances, conflicts, misconduct, and disciplinary matters across the hospital.
  • Lead and conduct fair, timely, and thorough investigations into employee complaints, harassment allegations, policy violations, and workplace disputes.
  • Advise and coach managers and supervisors on appropriate handling of performance issues, disciplinary actions, terminations, and conflict resolution.
  • Develop, review, and update employee relations policies, procedures, and the employee handbook to ensure alignment with labor laws and best practices.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with applicable labor laws, employment regulations, and internal HR policies, minimizing legal and reputational risk.
  • Manage the disciplinary and grievance process end-to-end, including documentation, hearings, show-cause notices, and final decisions in coordination with HR Head and legal counsel where needed.
  • Track, analyze, and report employee relations metrics (grievances, disciplinary actions, turnover trends) to HR Head, recommending corrective actions where needed.
  • Support exit interview processes and analyze findings to identify trends impacting employee retention and satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of all employee relations cases and outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of open communication and ethical conduct in line with IHHN's mission and values.
  • Stay current on changes in labor law, healthcare sector employment practices, and employee relations trends, updating internal practices accordingly.
Skills
  • Should have strong knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices relevant to Pakistan and the healthcare sector.
  • Should have strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and case documentation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
