- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including main meals, side dishes, and beverages, as per the menu.
- Ensure all food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and meets the eatery’s quality and taste standards.
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines to maintain consistency in flavor and presentation.
- Assist in menu planning and recommend improvements or new dishes, if required.
- Monitor and manage inventory, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and adequately stocked.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including utensils, cooking surfaces, and storage areas.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent contamination or spoilage.
- Manage time efficiently to ensure all orders are prepared and served promptly.
- Coordinate with other staff members to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
- Handle customer feedback or special requests professionally and adjust meals accordingly.
- Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a fast-paced eatery or similar establishment.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and sanitation practices.
- Strong time-management skills to handle multiple orders simultaneously.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure without compromising food quality.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with staff and handle customer requests.
- Creativity and passion for cooking, with a willingness to experiment with recipes.
- Physical stamina to stand for long hours and handle kitchen duties.
- A food safety or sanitation certificate is an advantage.
