Role overview
We are looking for an experienced Underwriting Assistant to support our underwriting team with accurate, timely administration across new business, renewals and policy changes. You will work closely with Australian client, gain exposure to Professional Indemnity and commercial insurance, and build a long-term career in the Australian insurance market.
Key responsibilities
- Process new business submissions, renewals, endorsements and cancellations in line with underwriting guidelines and service standards.
- Review proposal forms, broker submissions and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy, and follow up on missing information.
- Prepare quotes, policy documents, certificates of currency and renewal packs for underwriter review.
- Maintain accurate records in underwriting and CRM systems, including enquiry and request logs in HubSpot.
- Support underwriters with risk information gathering, data entry, reporting and workflow tracking.
- Respond professionally to internal and broker enquiries by email and, where required, by phone.
- Identify process gaps and suggest practical improvements to accuracy and turnaround times.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Management or a related field.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in the insurance industry, ideally in underwriting support or policy administration.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to work with Australian stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy with documents and data.
- A stable employment history.
Preferred qualifications
- Exposure to Professional Indemnity insurance or other commercial liability lines.
- Experience supporting Australian or other Western insurance markets.
- Experience in underwriting administration within an insurer, underwriting agency, broker or insurance BPO.
Technical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel (filters, lookups and basic reporting).
- Accurate, efficient data entry and document management.
- Working knowledge of the policy lifecycle and core insurance terminology.
Systems exposure
- HubSpot or similar CRM: highly desirable.
- Five Sigma: advantageous but not required.
- Full training on client’s systems will be provided.

- Clear, professional communication with underwriters and brokers.
Work arrangement
- Full‑time, Monday to Friday, aligned to Sydney business hours.
- 7:00 AM Manila start during Australian daylight saving time.
- Office‑based in Fairview, Quezon City. Onsite during the probationary period, with a hybrid work arrangement available upon regularization.
