Role overview
Client is a Sydney-based Australian insurance business, is expanding its offshore team and is looking for a detail-focused Claims Assistant. You will support the claims team across the full claims lifecycle, from lodgement and file set-up to correspondence and record keeping. This is an excellent opportunity for an insurance claims professional who wants to deepen their expertise in Professional Indemnity claims and work with an Australian team.
Key responsibilities
- Register new claims and notifications, set up claim files and verify policy coverage details against supporting documents.
- Request, track and follow up on outstanding information from insureds, brokers, doctors and other third parties.
- Record claim enquiries, requests and internal communications accurately in HubSpot and the claims system.
- Prepare claim correspondence, file notes, acknowledgements and status updates for review by claims officers.
- Maintain claim diaries, logs and reports so files progress within service standards.
- Handle internal enquiries and, as the role develops, communicate directly with doctors and clients by phone and email.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with care and discretion.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Health Sciences or a related field.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in insurance claims administration or claims processing.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to speak with professionals such as doctors.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- A stable employment history.
Preferred qualifications
- Exposure to Professional Indemnity, medical indemnity or liability claims.
- Experience supporting Australian or other Western insurance markets.
- Background in health, medical or Workers' Compensation claims.
Technical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Accurate data entry, file management and document review.
- Understanding of claims terminology, coverage checks and the claims lifecycle.
Systems exposure
- HubSpot or similar CRM: highly desirable.
- Five Sigma or other claims management systems: advantageous but not required.
- Full training on client's systems will be provided.

- Quick to learn new systems and processes, and comfortable working independently.
- Takes ownership of follow-ups and deadlines.
Work arrangement
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, aligned to Sydney business hours.
- 7:00 AM Manila start during Australian daylight saving time.
- Office-based in Fairview, Quezon City. Onsite during the probationary period, with a hybrid work arrangement available upon regularization.
