Job summary

Command|Link is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Command|Alert, responsible for end-to-end reliability of the alerting pipeline from OpenSearch evaluation to downstream delivery. You will shape architecture, define SLOs/SLIs, and drive blameless post-mortems with a focus on high-scale reliability.

This 100% remote role offers opportunities across multi-cloud environments, mentoring engineers, and influencing the technical direction of our security and monitoring platform.

Qualifications

• Background as SRE/DevOps with expertise in SLOs, SLIs, error budgets and blameless incident response.
• Experience designing or operating high-reliability alerting systems at scale, including rule-based and ML-based detection.
• Proficient in Go and/or Python, with container orchestration and multi-cloud experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability of the alerting pipeline end to end, from evaluation to delivery, with idempotency and soak-tested behavior under load.
• Define SLOs/SLIs for availability and latency; use error budgets to guide investments in reliability.
• Lead blameless post-mortems and drive systemic fixes and automation.
• Build observability and automation for Fortune 1000 scale with low toil; manage capacity as traffic grows.
• Set architecture for rule-based and ML-based alert evaluation and topology generation for investigation.
• Mentor engineers and communicate technical direction across teams.
