Job summary

CommandLink is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for our remote team. You will own the architecture of the monitoring product’s API and UI, surface device hierarchies from company down to services, and guide cross-team data contracts and telemetry integration.

You’ll mentor engineers while delivering scalable, topology-aware solutions and clear visualizations, enabling customers to troubleshoot in real time.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of network and system topology.
• Production experience with high-volume, latency-sensitive infrastructure such as Kafka and OpenSearch.
• Experience with contract-driven development using protobuf to keep services honest to a shared contract.
• Cloud experience across at least two providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proven track record of making architectural decisions in ambiguous spaces and driving durable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and long-term direction of the monitoring product's API and UI.
• Surface the full account and device hierarchy at scale.
• Lead discovery and inventory experiences and onboarding of new sources.
• Build screens for alert history and relationships across services.
• Define data contracts and maintain quality as the platform scales.
• Set patterns for rendering and interacting with complex network data and topologies.
• Mentor engineers and drive production-grade full-stack work.
