Job summary

Customer.io is seeking a Global Controller to lead the close, accounting controls, and treasury for a remote-first, international company. You will manage revenue recognition, equity accounting, and external audits, while building a scalable control environment and a high-performing team of about seven.

You will partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, IT, HR, and Engineering to ensure compliant, audit-ready books and an optimized close cycle.

Qualifications

• 10+ years accounting experience with leadership.
• Big 4 foundation.
• Deep US GAAP mastery, ASC 606.
• Automation project with measurable impact.
• Experience scaling an accounting function.
• Proven external audit track record.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and quarterly close and reconciliations with US GAAP accuracy.
• Own revenue accounting for ASC 606 and ARR-to-GAAP bridge.
• Author technical accounting memos on contracts and costs.
• Oversee equity compensation accounting (ASC 718).
• Manage and grow a ~7-person team and develop leaders.
• Build a global control framework for a remote-first company.
