Job summary

Maya is seeking a Senior Clearing Operations Specialist to oversee treasury clearing operations in Manila. The role ensures accurate, timely processing of clearing transactions, settlements, and EFTs while maintaining regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in clearing and treasury operations, with strong reconciliation and risk-management skills, and experience with system implementations or UAT. This is an on-site position supporting BSP regulations and internal controls.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience in clearing, settlements, treasury operations, payments, or banking operations.
• Experience in reconciliation, exception handling, and operational risk management.
• Exposure to system implementations and UAT is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end processing of clearing transactions (check clearing, EFTs, settlements) ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Review and approve transactions, reconciliations, settlement reports, and operational deliverables.
• Monitor and resolve exceptions, disputed transactions, reconciliation breaks within timelines.
• Conduct investigations and root-cause analyses of incidents; implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with BSP regulations, PCHC rules, internal controls, and procedures.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address operational concerns.
• Prepare and review operational reports, dashboards, and audit documentation.
• Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives and system enhancements.
• Provide guidance and support to Clearing Associates and junior staff.

Overview

The Senior Clearing Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing the Bank's end-to-end clearing operations, ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of check clearing transactions, electronic fund transfers, settlements, and other treasury-related transactions. The role is accountable for reviewing and approving transactions, managing operational risks and exceptions, overseeing balancing and reconciliation activities, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, supporting regulatory and audit requirements, and driving process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and control effectiveness.

What You Will Do

• Oversee the end-to-end processing of clearing transactions, including check clearing, electronic fund transfers, settlements, and other treasury-related transactions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established policies and regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve transactions, reconciliations, settlement reports, and operational deliverables to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Monitor and resolve operational exceptions, disputed transactions, reconciliation breaks, and outstanding clearing items within prescribed timelines.
• Conduct investigations and root-cause analyses of operational incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with BSP regulations, PCHC operating rules, internal controls, and Clearing Operations policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, correspondent banks, clearing houses, and external counterparties to address operational concerns and support business requirements.
• Prepare and review operational reports, management dashboards, and audit-related documentation, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
• Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and other operational projects to improve efficiency, control effectiveness, and customer experience.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and operational support to Clearing Associates and junior team members.
• Perform other Treasury Operations and back-office functions as may be assigned by management.

What We Are Looking For

• At least 3-5 years of experience in clearing, settlements, treasury operations, payments, or banking operations.
• Experience in reconciliation, exception handling, and operational risk management.
• Strong understanding of BSP regulations, PCHC rules, and banking operational controls.
• Experience supporting audit, compliance, or regulatory review activities.
• Exposure to system implementations, UAT activities, and process improvement projects is preferred.
• Supervisory or leadership experience is an advantage.
