Job summary

Deel is seeking a Senior Payroll Associate to own payroll processing and guide junior teammates. You will work with Australian payroll regulations, ensure compliance, and drive process improvements across our payroll operations.

The role requires a deep technical understanding of payroll systems, attention to detail, and strong communication skills in English. Helping employees and interfacing with regulatory requirements are key responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.
• 3 - 6 years of experience in payroll.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll laws and regulations.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong proficiency in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the processing of payroll data for employees
• Maintain accurate employee records
• Verify and reconcile employee data, including salaries, hours worked, and deductions
• Assist with Australian payroll tax calculations and filings
• Provide support to employees for payroll-related questions and issues
• Ensure compliance with Australian payroll laws and regulations
• Lead the implementation of new payroll processes and systems
