Job summary

Deel is seeking an experienced Payroll Implementation Specialist to oversee global payroll system implementations for clients. You will manage data migration, configuration, and go-live support while coordinating with internal teams and clients to ensure a seamless transition.

The role requires 3+ years in payroll implementation, strong cross-country compliance knowledge, and excellent communication to lead client engagements and drive successful rollouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in payroll implementation and operations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance across multiple countries.
• Experience with payroll systems and software.
• Client-facing project management experience preferred.
• Project management certification (e.g., CAPM) a plus.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage tasks under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing kickoff meetings and managing project plans for global payroll rollouts across multiple countries.
• Coordinate project review calls, manage project streams, and handle scope changes or schedule adjustments.
• Support client payroll process setup, including data requirements and payroll calendar management.
• Maintain project documentation, including plans, status updates, and process documentation.
• Help configure payroll systems, reports, and interfaces for parallel payroll and the first two months of live payroll.
• Assist with client go-live transitions, ensuring sign-offs and validating project implementation.
• Generate reports to analyze, audit, and reconcile payroll data, including GL report mapping when necessary.
• Serve as a secondary point of contact for clients, attending weekly calls and reporting on project status, risks, and actions.
• Support data migration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local and international tax and labor laws.
• Assist with testing and change management to ensure a smooth payroll transition for clients.
