Job summary

24x7 Direct is seeking an organised Australian Accounts & Payroll Officer to manage payroll and financial administration for our Melbourne-based operations, while coordinating with field staff and suppliers from a remote setup in the Philippines.

Responsibilities include end-to-end payroll processing, award interpretation under Australian standards, superannuation, receivables/payables, and job costing. The role offers stability with full-time hours and a long-term view.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Accounts & Payroll in trades or construction.
• Proficient in cloud accounting platforms like Xero or MYOB with simPRO exposure.
• Thorough understanding of Australian PAYG, Super Guarantee, and Fair Work.
• Excellent data entry accuracy for high-volume trades.
• Strong written and verbal communication with field staff and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing weekly/fortnightly for staff and trades.
• Interpret and apply Electrical Award/EBAs with overtime and allowances.
• Administer monthly superannuation and CoINVEST contributions.
• Track annual/sick/RDO leave accruals.
• Reconcile supplier invoices against POs and manage progress claims.
• Audit timesheets and materials for project costing; perform bank reconciliations.
• Assist with BAS, GST tracking and STP lodgements.
