Job summary

OpsArmy Careers is seeking a Senior Accountant to own end-to-end accounting and month-end close for a portfolio of clients. You will work remotely with QBO, inventory and cost accounting, and transactional accounting expertise, supporting e-commerce/CPG businesses.

The role emphasizes ownership, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial reports, while coordinating with Controllers and Staff Accountants to ensure reliable client service.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) for daily accounting and records.
• Experience in inventory and cost accounting.
• Experience in transactional accounting and recording, classification, and reconciliation.
• Accounting methods for e-commerce or CPG businesses, including inventory and costs.
• Month-end close support or ownership and meeting deadlines.
• Attention to detail and accurate, up-to-date financial records.
• Ownership mindset and problem-solving, able to elevate issues.
• Strong client communication and timely responses.
• Strong organization and time management to track open items and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end month-end close for an assigned portfolio of clients.
• Take ownership of specific accounting tasks within the month-end close cycle and ensure timely, accurate completion.
• Perform transactional accounting activities, ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded and documented.
• Manage inventory and cost accounting activities, ensuring accurate inventory records and cost tracking.
• Apply accounting methods relevant to e-commerce and CPG businesses.
• Prepare, review, and support the delivery of client accounting reports and other financial deliverables.
• Respond to client questions and resolve accounting-related concerns.
• Request, organize, and follow up on missing client documentation to support accurate accounting.
• Maintain clean, accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Double.
• Identify discrepancies, investigate accounting issues, and escalate to the Controller.
• Monitor deadlines and ensure client deliverables are completed on schedule.
• Support internal process improvements and other accounting projects.
• Collaborate with Controllers and Staff Accountants to ensure high-quality service.
