Job summary

OpsArmy Careers is seeking a Senior Accountant to own end-to-end accounting and month-end close for a portfolio of clients, with a strong focus on QuickBooks Online, inventory and cost accounting, and e-commerce/CPG environments.

The role requires ownership, accuracy, and the ability to deliver timely client reports, collaborate with Controllers and Staff Accountants, and ensure clean financial records across QBO and Double.

Qualifications

• QBO proficiency for day-to-day accounting operations.
• Inventory and cost accounting experience.
• Transactional accounting experience.
• Experience with e-commerce or CPG accounting.
• Experience supporting or owning month-end close.
• Attention to detail and accurate financial records.
• Ability to work independently and escalate as needed.
• Strong written/spoken client communication.
• Solid organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end month-end close for an assigned portfolio, including AP, AR and payroll-related tasks.
• Take ownership of specific tasks within the close cycle to ensure timely completion.
• Perform transactional accounting and ensure proper recording and classification of transactions.
• Manage inventory and cost accounting and related financial reporting.
• Apply accounting methods for e-commerce/CPG businesses, including inventory and costs.
• Prepare, review and support delivery of client accounting reports and deliverables.
• Respond to client questions and resolve accounting-related issues.
• Collect missing documentation to support accurate accounting.
• Maintain clean, accurate financial records in QBO and Double.
• Identify discrepancies and escalate issues to the Controller before deadlines.
• Monitor deadlines and ensure client deliverables are met.
• Support process improvements and accounting team projects.
• Collaborate with Controllers and Staff Accountants to ensure high-quality service.
