Job summary

Harbor Star Shipping Services, Inc. seeks a Sales and Marketing Officer to generate new business, manage client relationships, and promote marine services from Subic, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, or Zamboanga branches.

You will build a robust sales pipeline, prepare proposals, and negotiate terms while coordinating with Operations to meet service requirements. Travel to ports and fieldwork are expected as part of developing the territory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management, Entrepreneurship, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or related field.
• Preferably 3+ years in B2B sales, account management, or business development.
• Experience in shipping/logistics/port/tugboat/maritime industries is highly preferred.
• Established network within shipping/logistics/port/tugboat industry is an advantage.
• Leadership or supervisory experience and ability to coordinate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in tugboat, harbor services, towage, salvage, lighterage, and related marine services.
• Build and maintain relationships with shipping lines, port operators, shipowners, agents, logistics companies, and government stakeholders.
• Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, presentations, and client requirements.
• Negotiate terms and coordinate with Operations to ensure service delivery.
• Monitor market developments, port movements, and opportunities within assigned territory.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and submit forecasts, activity reports, and market updates.
• Assist in achieving branch sales, revenue, and client-retention targets.
• Represent the company in client meetings, industry events, and business development activities.
• Provide leadership to assigned personnel and support branch commercial objectives.

About the role

Locations: Subic | Iloilo | Zamboanga | Cagayan de Oro

The Sales and Marketing Officer will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing client relationships, promoting the Company’s marine services, and supporting the assigned branch in achieving its revenue and market-development targets.

Vacancies are available at Harbor Star branches in Subic, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, and Zamboanga. Successful candidates will be assigned to one of these locations. Preference will be given to applicants who currently reside in or near their preferred area of assignment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities involving tugboat, harbor assistance, towage, salvage, lighterage, marine construction, and other related marine services

• Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, port operators, shipowners, agents, logistics companies, industrial clients, and government stakeholders

• Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, presentations, and other client requirements

• Negotiate commercial terms and coordinate closely with Operations and other departments to ensure service requirements are properly delivered

• Monitor market developments, competitor activities, port movements, and potential business opportunities within the assigned territory

• Maintain an active sales pipeline and submit regular sales forecasts, activity reports, and market updates

• Assist in achieving the branch's sales, revenue, and client-retention targets

• Represent the Company professionally during client meetings, industry events, and business-development activities

• Provide leadership and guidance to assigned personnel and support the overall commercial objectives of the branch

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management, Entrepreneurship, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or another related field

• Preferably with at least three (3) years of experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development

• Experience in the shipping, logistics, port, tugboat, maritime, freight forwarding, or related industries is highly preferred

• An established professional network within the shipping, logistics, port, or tugboat industry is an advantage

• With leadership or supervisory experience and the ability to coordinate effectively with different teams

• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills

• Commercially driven, proactive, resourceful, and capable of working with minimal supervision

• Able to prepare professional proposals, reports, and presentations

• Willing to conduct fieldwork, meet clients, visit ports, and travel when required

• Must be willing to be assigned in Subic, Iloilo, Zamboanga, or Cagayan de Oro
