Job summary

MGS Construction, Inc. is seeking a Safety Officer to ensure health and safety compliance across projects nationwide. You will work under the Corporate EHSS and Project Manager, lead safety trainings, and conduct inspections and incident investigations to prevent injuries.

Qualified candidates hold a 4-year degree and COSH/BOSH certification, with advanced computer skills and a valid driver's license. Willingness to be assigned in Surigao Del Norte and anywhere in the Philippines is required.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be a college graduate of any 4-year course.
• Preferably with construction industry experience.
• With advance computer knowledge.
• Must have a COSH/BOSH Certificate (required).
• Can drive manual and automatic vehicles (with driver’s license).
• Applicant must be willing to work Nationwide.
• Must be flexible, dedicated to work, competitive, and a team player.
• Must be willing to be assigned in Surigao Del Norte and anywhere in the Philippines

Responsibilities

• Functionally reporting to the Corporate EHSS Department and administratively reporting to the Project Manager.
• Acts as Secretary of Health & Safety Committee headed by the Project Manager.
• Ensures effective implementation of company safety rules and OSH procedures.
• Monitor site compliance with DOLE and Safety standards.
• Conduct Health and Safety training/orientation for all levels at the site.
• Conduct daily safety inspections to protect workers and environment.
• Monitor project manpower.
• Store, administer, and monitor first aid treatments.
• Conduct accident investigations and formulate corrective actions.
• Conduct periodic safety walkthroughs with PM/PIC.
• Issue stop-work orders if hazards or imminent danger found.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Functionally reporting to the Corporate EHSS Department and administratively reporting to the Project Manager.

• Acts as Secretary of Health & Safety Committee headed by the Project Manager / Project-In-Charge; see Occupational Safety & Health Standards (OSHS) / Department Order No. 13.

• Ensures effective and efficient implementation of company rules and regulations, quality policies, systems and procedures, OSH Procedures, and safety plan of the project.

• Monitor project site compliance with standards and procedures promulgated by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Bureau of Working Conditions, Health and Safety Division.

• Conduct Health and Safety Educational training / orientation for all levels at the project site.

• Conduct daily safety inspections in the workplace to ensure the protection of the workers and environment.

• Monitor project manpower.

• Stores, administer, and monitor first aid treatments on injuries, accidents and other health related illness.

• Conduct accident investigation, analyze and formulate recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.

• Conduct periodic safety walkthrough with the PM/PIC.

• Issue a stop-work order should he/she find the work potential to hazard condition or imminent danger.
