VCC Engineering & Construction Services is seeking a Safety Officer to ensure compliance with OSHS on construction sites. You will monitor DOLE/OSH requirements, conduct daily inspections, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.

The role requires DOLE-recognized safety qualifications, strong communication, and the ability to perform site inspections and risk assessments under field conditions.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or related field preferred.
• Must possess DOLE-recognized Safety Officer qualification/certification applicable to the position and project.
• Construction safety experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Philippine OSH laws and DOLE requirements.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to conduct site inspections and identify construction hazards.
• Ability to work effectively with workers, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and management.
• Willing to work at a construction/project site and under field conditions.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor compliance with DOLE and OSH requirements, including RA No. 11058 (OSHS).
• Conduct daily and periodic inspections of construction sites to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, hazards, and potential risks.
• Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions, and monitor compliance with proper use of PPE.
• Inspect scaffolds, ladders, excavation areas, temporary electrical systems, lifting operations, working-at-height activities, and other high-risk construction activities.
• Conduct or assist in preparing job hazard analysis (JHA), job safety analysis (JSA), and risk assessments.
• Monitor compliance with permit-to-work systems where applicable.
• Conduct site safety orientation for new employees, workers, visitors, and subcontractors.
• Immediately respond to workplace accidents, injuries, near misses, and dangerous occurrences.
• Conduct incident investigations and assist in determining root causes.
• Prepare incident/accident reports and recommend corrective and preventive measures.

About the role

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field is preferred

• Must possess the appropriate DOLE-recognized Safety Officer qualification/certification applicable to the position and project

• Construction safety experience is preferred

• Knowledge of Philippine OSH laws and DOLE requirements

• Strong communication and documentation skills

• Ability to conduct site inspections and identify construction hazards

• Ability to work effectively with workers, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and management
