Oversees daily operations, ensuring a seamless guest experience and efficient management of staff. This role involves supervising front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house activities, maintaining high service standards, and driving operational excellence to meet business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the restaurant
- Delegate tasks to restaurant staff and supervise their performance.
- Lead the staff in actively learning the products, services, and campaigns / updates of the brand.
- Train employees on customer service best practices.
- Preparing weekly work schedules for staff and finding suitable replacements in cases of staff absence.
- Ensuring that all restaurant expenses are within budget and identifying ways to decrease operational costs.
- Coordinate with purchaser and order supplies, as needed (like takeaway cups, coffee, milk, and other ingredients).
- Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and ordering new stock as needed.
- Receiving delivered restaurant supplies and verifying that the correct items and quantities have been delivered.
- Maintain updated records of daily, weekly, and monthly revenues and expenses.
- Manage dining reservations.
- Suggesting new menu items based on customers' preferences and feedback.
- Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with clients and deliver excellent customer service.
- Resolving customer complaints regarding food quality and customer service and escalating these whenever necessary.
- Ensure all cafe areas meet sanitation and safety standards.
- Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation.
- Identifying strategies to retain and attract customers.
- Keep an in-depth knowledge of the restaurant menu, beverages, and other product offerings.
- Updating signages and displays to attract customers such as the store merchandise shelves.
- Open or close the restaurant (when responsible for the first or last shift).
- Inform the next Shift Supervisor about pending tasks.
- Report maintenance and training needs.
