End-to-end ownership of payroll & HR

Job summary

MLEC is seeking a Payroll & HR Officer to own the weekly payroll cycle, ensure payroll compliance, and manage HR administration. This fully remote contractor role supports Australian payroll professionals and reports to a Finance Manager.

You’ll enable accurate, on-time payments and compliant records across the payroll function. Join a stable offshore team and oversee end-to-end payroll and HR processes with ownership and discretion.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with Australian payroll using Xero Payroll or Employment Hero.
• Experience in HR administration: contracts, onboarding, records.
• A strong sense of discretion when handling confidential employee and pay information.

Responsibilities

• Run weekly payroll across WA, SA and Group every Tuesday.
• Collate timesheets and enter payroll data weekly, including overtime verification.
• Process leave applications and maintain absence records.
• Run weekly international payroll for offshore team.
• Process employee reimbursements.
• Prepare STP lodgements, superannuation and child support for approval.
• Reconcile payroll to ledger monthly.
• Maintain payroll categories in pay systems.
• Manage payroll inbox and bonuses computation.
