The role covers end-to-end payroll, compliance, reporting and HR administration in a busy environment. You will handle Australian Awards, Enterprise Agreements, superannuation, STP, PAYG withholding and payroll tax, while maintaining accurate employee records and timely payroll processing.
MMC is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer with strong Australian payroll experience to support an Australian business with accurate and timely end-to-end payroll, payroll compliance, reporting, and HR administration. The successful candidate will be confident working with Australian Awards, Enterprise Agreements, superannuation, STP, PAYG withholding and payroll tax, and will be able to manage payroll accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Manage accurate and timely end-to-end Australian payroll.
Process payroll data, leave, superannuation and authorised changes to pay rates and conditions.
Ensure payroll complies with Australian Awards, Enterprise Agreements, taxation and statutory obligations.
Maintain accurate and confidential payroll and employee records.
Prepare payroll, HR and compliance reports for management, auditors and government agencies.
Respond promptly to payroll-related queries from employees and management.
Support HR administration, employee records, contracts and compliance registers.
Assist with workers compensation and other HR programs where required.
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Payroll Officer in a busy environment.
Experience processing at least 100 pays per payroll cycle.
Strong hands-on Australian payroll experience.
Strong working knowledge of Australian Awards, Enterprise Agreements, Superannuation, STP, PAYG withholding and Payroll tax.
Experience using payroll systems, HRIS and employee records systems.
Good understanding of accounting principles and payroll reporting.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Outlook and Word.
High level of confidentiality, accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organisation and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and meet strict payroll deadlines.
