Job summary

STAFFVIRTUAL, Inc. seeks a Network Support Technician to assist network operations via monitoring, troubleshooting, and accurate ticket documentation. On-the-job training is provided, with emphasis on teamwork and flexibility to work multiple shifts from a remote setup.

The role targets entry-level candidates with a foundation in networking concepts and strong documentation skills. You will learn to use SolarWinds, SRM2, and related tools while supporting clients worldwide.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of OSI Model layers 1-4, routing, switching, LAN/WAN.
• Solid fundamentals in TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLAN, subnetting, gateways, IPv4/IPv6 addressing.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic connectivity issues using ping, traceroute, nslookup.
• Experience with monitoring applications or VoIP/SIP is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Create and track all network trouble tickets and change requests from clients and vendors.
• Document data from systems and personnel in the client’s Trouble Ticket System.
• Follow procedures to troubleshoot with other personnel and companies.
• Communicate professionally with customers and vendors, verbally and in writing.
• Follow detailed instructions and procedures.
• Apply logical troubleshooting to interpret alerts and determine root cause.
• Use NOC resources (Solarwinds, SRM2, portals, networking tools) to analyze information and take action per procedures.
