Job summary

GoLean Health is hiring a Medical Virtual Assistant (MVA) for a remote role supporting a busy chiropractic/healthcare clinic. The ideal candidate is sharp, proactive, detail-oriented, emotionally intelligent, and able to own clinic workflows with minimal supervision.

This role involves insurance verification, claims processing, EOB handling, patient balance resolution, and operational reporting. Strong English, executive presence, accountability, and Mac OS proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience.

Responsibilities

• Insurance verification after patient check-in, ~15 minutes post-appointment.
• Review denied claims and assist with reprocessing and follow-up.
• Review and process Explanations of Benefits (EOB).
• Track outstanding balances and coordinate resolution steps.
• Support claims workflows including Cigna and VA claims.
• Assist with vendor payments and ensure timely processing.
• Monitor SOAP note completion and compliance.
• Track missed/canceled appointments and trends affecting revenue.
• Prepare reports on balances, appointments, EOB backlog, and metrics.
• Coordinate with provider, care team, and staff to ensure updates are shared.
