Job summary

Remote Raven is seeking a meticulous Accountant to own the full accounting function for a US-based contractor. You will manage bank reconciliations, month-end close, AR/collections, retainage, and certified payroll reporting from a remote setup.

You will interact with clients on overdue balances and participate in monthly retainage and project reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely filings across all construction-related reports.

Qualifications

• Extensive QuickBooks experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting including AR, AP, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Proficient with lien waivers, certified payroll, and project reporting.
• Comfortable making occasional outbound calls to collect overdue balances while maintaining relationships.

Responsibilities

• Bank Reconciliation & Transaction Management: Import and categorize weekly transactions, perform reconciliations, record adjusting entries, and process checks in QuickBooks.
• Month-End Close: Prepare P&L and balance sheet reports, ensure reconciliations and complete entries.
• Accounts Receivable & Collections: Track aging, send monthly statements, handle collections communications, and assist with retainage discussions.
• Retainage Management: Track, record, and release retainage per contract terms; participate in monthly retainage meetings.
• Monthly Project Reporting: Prepare project workforce and utilization reports and ensure timely submission.
• Insurance Audits & Compliance: Assist with audits, gather supporting docs, and maintain records throughout the year.
