Job summary

Remote Raven is seeking a skilled US-based accounting professional to manage the complete bookkeeping cycle for multiple clients, including job costing for construction, month-end close, and financial reporting. This role requires CPA licensure or active pursuit, advanced QuickBooks Online proficiency, and strong attention to detail.

You will handle AP/AR, bank reconciliations, WIP and progress billing, and coordinate with CPAs.

Qualifications

• CPA license or actively pursuing CPA licensure.
• Advanced QuickBooks Online proficiency including company setup, chart of accounts design, class tracking, reconciliations and reporting.
• Experience managing full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients simultaneously across industries.
• Demonstrated construction bookkeeping and job costing experience.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate financials.
• Self-directed and organized: meet deadlines without reminders and flag issues proactively.
• Strong written communication skills for client-facing summaries.
• Reliable remote setup with high-speed internet.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete bookkeeping cycle for all assigned clients, from daily transaction entry through month-end close and financial reporting.
• Categorize and reconcile all transactions to the correct accounts, classes, and jobs or cost centers.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations for all accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for each client, including vendor invoices and client billing support.
• Accrue expenses monthly and post adjusting journal entries as required.
• Maintain job cost tracking for construction clients, coding labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and equipment to the correct job and cost code.
• Support WIP reporting and percentage-of-completion tracking where applicable.
• Assist with progress billing and lien waiver documentation coordination.
• Track subcontractor payments and support 1099 preparation at year-end.
• Prepare and deliver monthly financial statement packages for each client (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Provide clear, actionable financial summaries tailored to each client's level of sophistication.
• Flag variances, anomalies, or cash flow concerns proactively.
• Support quarterly and year-end financial reporting and coordinate with external CPAs or tax preparers as needed.
