Job summary

Hunt St is seeking a Business Development Specialist (Recruitment) to join a growing team. This remote, independent contractor role focuses on 80% new business development and 20% recruitment delivery, targeting Australian clients and building long‑term relationships.

You will identify recruitment needs, engage decision-makers, generate opportunities, and convert them into clients while supporting automated sourcing and candidate shortlisting for delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of outbound B2B business development or sales experience in recruitment, staffing, professional services, or technology environments.
• Proven track record of generating new business through outbound prospecting.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and engage senior decision-makers and book qualified meetings.
• Experience personally winning new clients and building strong client relationships.
• Ability to provide measurable results (meetings booked, pipeline, revenue, conversion, clients won).
• Understanding of the full business development cycle from prospecting to client acquisition.
• Experience selling into the Australian market is essential.

Responsibilities

• Business Development & Client Acquisition (80%): identify and target companies with recruitment/talent needs, conduct outbound activities, research decision-makers, build a strong pipeline, initiate conversations, book qualified meetings, convert prospects, maintain engagement, track activity and outcomes, expand relationships with existing clients.
• Recruitment Delivery (20%): manage recruitment pipeline with automated sourcing, review candidate pipelines, prepare shortlists, assess suitability, liaise with candidates and clients, support delivery of assignments, maintain ATS records.
