The Australian practice seeks an intermediate accounting professional to own assigned work, perform Xero-based processing, and support SMSFs with accuracy and confidentiality. The role blends accounting production with bookkeeping, aiming to reduce the Director’s routine involvement.

Qualifications

• Intermediate to advanced Xero proficiency and experience with client accounting data processing.
• Ability to perform reconciliations and prepare journal entries with explanations.
• SMSF support experience and familiarity with SMSF workflows (BGL) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently after training.
• Willingness to communicate clearly and ask questions when needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process client accounting data, including data from clients not using Xero.
• Complete account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare manual journal entries with explanations and documentation.
• Assist with SMSF accounting work using BGL and established procedures.
• Develop bookkeeping responsibilities as familiarity with systems grows.
• Maintain organised client records and ensure review readiness for Director.
