Job summary

Manulife Financial is seeking a Sr. Business Development Manager to drive growth and capability development across Regions and Branch Heads.

You will lead end-to-end performance management of Advisors and Agency Leaders, ensuring targets for headcount, production, and activation are met while strengthening leadership pipelines and governance. You will collaborate with Agency Development Managers and Expansion Managers to optimize recruitment, onboarding, training, and productivity, delivering

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, Economics, or a related field.
At least 6 years of experience in sales, business development, or agency management, preferably in insurance or financial services.
Proven experience in agency leadership, performance management, and capability building.
Strong planning, leadership, communication, and data-driven results skills.

Responsibilities

Lead Regional agency strategy by translating priorities into clear strategies, standards, and scorecards.
Manage end-to-end performance of Advisors and Agency Leaders to meet headcount, production, and activation targets.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, activation, training, and productivity improvements in line with focus areas.
Ensure governance standards for leader validation, performance reviews, and remediation actions.
Coordinate regional programs with compliance, documentation, and audit readiness.
Coach Agency Development and Expansion teams to improve execution quality and retention.
