Job summary

AS White Global Pty is seeking a Claims Specialist to manage motor recovery claims from lodgement to resolution, coordinating with Australian clients and insurers across time zones.

You will review police reports, repair estimates, and liability assessments, building evidence-based recovery cases and negotiating settlements for timely and cost-effective recoveries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required in business, law, or related field.
• Experience in Australian motor claims or similar insurance function.
• Strong negotiation and dispute resolution capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Manage motor vehicle recovery claims from lodgement to resolution.
• Review documentation, police reports, repair estimates and assessments to establish liability and quantify losses.
• Prepare recovery letters of demand and other correspondence for third parties and insurers.
• Negotiate settlements with insurers, repairers, and legal representatives.
• Monitor finances and reserves across recovery files and escalate disputes to external counsel when needed.

What You’ll Do

• Manage a portfolio of motor vehicle recovery claims from lodgement through to resolution, driving matters toward timely and cost-effective outcomes.
• Review claim documentation, police reports, repair estimates, and technical assessments to establish liability and accurately quantify losses.
• Build well-evidenced recovery cases and prepare letters of demand and other recovery correspondence for at-fault third parties and their insurers.
• Negotiate recovery settlements with third-party insurers, repairers, and legal representatives.
• Maintain and monitor finance reserves across recovery files, ensuring amounts remain accurate and appropriately updated.
• Identify and elevate disputed matters to external legal counsel for litigation where required.
• Communicate clearly with Australian-based stakeholders and manage matters effectively across different time zones.
• Monitor recovery performance against agreed targets, including recovery success rates and cycle times.

Key Criteria

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Legal/Pre-Law or related program.
• At least 4 years' experience within the Australian motor claims industry is essential.
• Experience in motor vehicle recoveries, third-party claims, motor assessing, or a closely related insurance function.
• Working knowledge of Australian motor vehicle insurance recovery processes, liability principles, and claims practices.
• Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills, with the ability to achieve practical settlement outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when dealing with Australian insurers, legal representatives, and other stakeholders.
• Strong decision-making and analytical skills, with the ability to assess evidence and determine liability and quantum.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage a portfolio of claims, and prioritise competing matters effectively.

Work setup:

• Manila (BGC, Taguig): Australian business hours (6am to 3pm Manila time) with a hybrid set up of 3 days in our BGC office and 2 days Work From Home.
