Job Description:
Primary responsibilities:
Manages the project site assigned and ensures that the project is finished according to planned schedule. Ensures that the project complies with the contract and ensures the safety, quality, and profitability of any project. This position performs project management responsibilities on a small to medium sized, low to moderate risk engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction /installation projects. This position may also be assigned responsibility for a substantial area of a mega project.
For project proposal, this position is responsible for managing completion of technical and commercial requirements e.g. project planning, project execution and strategy, schedule, cost estimates, and commercial strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures complete understanding of the prime contract and relevant subcontracts.
- Responsible for the establishment of safety plan and ensures that HSE is emphasized throughout all phases of the project.
- Responsible for the development of the management summary report.
- Ensures execution of all aspects of the project in accordance with contractual obligations and established execution strategy.
- Ensures full compliance with prime contract with regard to client reporting, notifications, project start up and close-out requirements.
- Establishes the project baseline and ensure that it is fully documented, updated throughout all project phases, and appropriately communicated to project team.
- Delivers the project in accordance with the project execution and commercial baselines.
- Meets the as-sold profitability target established in the project commercial baseline, and ensure to communicate with relevant project team members.
- Promptly prepares a contract summary and communicate it to the project leadership.
- Establishes and defines the project organization, project staffing requirements, and coordinate staffing with supporting organization managers.
- Establishes, communicates, implements and maintains the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
- Provides strong, effective and decisive project leadership and establish an execution framework to ensure the safety, quality, and profitability of the total project execution.
- Establishes and maintains effective client relations that result in active cooperation, prompt payment, and the desire to award follow-on work.
- Establishes good work environment and work relationship among project team members, guide team’s work implementation on aligned and consistent goal and path.
- Ensures accurate, comprehensive, and timely project reporting, including completion and distribution of the final close-out report.
- Establishes, maintains and manages a fully documented change management system that tracks all changes to the contract and project baseline requirements.
- Establishes an efficient and cost-effective project environment.
- Manages and controls the project’s cost and schedule by ensuring that effective project controls are in place.
- Establishes and updates the Risk Management throughout the project life-cycle, perform initial and quarterly project risk assessments.
- Executes the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project, including the preparation of and compliance with project-specific activity plans and ensuring project audits/assessments are conducted per plan.
- Ensures effective and timely coordination among design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and maintenance teams for integration of technical content and schedule activities.
- Ensures timely preparation and issuance of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages according to schedule to support project execution activities.
- Ensures effective interface management with third parties (if any).
- Supports the implementation of automated work processes and tools on the project.
- Ensures that project invoices are submitted to the client in accordance with company contract requirements and proactively follow up on accounts receivable and the timely receipt of payment in order to minimize the cost of cash.
- Provides status reports of project activities that include required financial reporting, and participate in project reviews as required.
- Ensures that project records are identified, collected, indexed, filed, stored, and maintained in accordance with the project file index and retention schedule.
- Reviews, organizes, and shares relevant lessons learned from other projects and seek advice from other experienced managers as necessary throughout the life of the project.
- Determines office space requirements and work with office management to obtain required space with necessary services support based on project needs.
- Provides Leadership to a medium sized staff, this may include solving interpersonal conflicts, selecting the right person for the particular tasks and acting on signs of work overload.
- Mentors and coaches team mates.
- Typically manages personnel and provide an environment for the development and professional advancement of staff members, including on-the-job and formal training and development opportunities, and timely performance feedback.
- Leverages internal and external resources to administer policies and procedures consistently across all business lines, functions, and locations.
- Organizes and prioritizes a variety of complex projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines.
- Maintains compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Adheres to and support company’s HSE Policies.
- May need to travel to attend to business related matters.
- Meets expectations on attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications:
- Accredited five (5) year degree in applicable field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to thirteen (13) years.
- Ability to communicate effectively with , but are not limited to, management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, national or international standards and guidelines.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a timely and effective manner.
- Adaptability to various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to project worksites and vendor/client facilities which may have temporary office space, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
- Demonstration of successful performance as project manager on a minimum of two (2) small to medium sized projects or in significant role on large to very large sized EPFC/CM projects.
- Project or area management experience in international locations and diverse cultural environments is recommended.
- Participate in sales and marketing efforts.
- Jobsite experience and understanding of construction safety program
- Certification in project management suggested, e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP)
