About the role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Food Production Staff member to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will handle raw ingredients, operate processing machinery, and pack finished goods while maintaining strict hygiene and food safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, feed, and operate food processing machinery (such as mixers, slicers, grinders, and ovens) safely and efficiently
- Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients according to established recipes and production schedules
- Inspect raw materials and finished products for defects, correct weight, appearance, and proper packaging
- Assemble boxes, label products, and pack finished food items into containers or crates for shipment
- Clean and sanitize workstations, tools, and machinery before and after production cycles in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Strictly adhere to protocols regarding allergen handling and segregation of raw and cooked products
- Report any machinery faults, quality issues, or safety hazards immediately to the shift supervisor
Requirement & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid Food Handler's Permit or equivalent food safety certification is a major plus (or must be obtained upon hiring)
- Previous experience in food production, manufacturing, commercial kitchens, or warehouse environments is preferred but not required
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients
- Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- High attention to detail to catch defects and ensure consistent quality
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20-50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures (e.g., climate-controlled rooms, commercial kitchens, or cold storage/freezer environments)
- Willingness to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hairnets, gloves, aprons, and steel-toed boots
