Job Summary
The Procurement Specialist is primarily responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the timely procurement of goods from local and international suppliers. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing, reliable supplier relationships, and uninterrupted supply chain operations
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with overseas suppliers, manufacturers, and business partners.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment.
- Coordinate importation and shipping activities with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners.
- Monitor stock levels and purchasing requirements to ensure timely replenishment while avoiding stock shortages.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery timelines.
- Resolve procurement issues, including pricing discrepancies, shipment delays, damaged goods, and supplier concerns.
- Research new suppliers, products, and market trends to identify cost-saving and sourcing opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, import/export regulations, and customs requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, contracts, and purchasing documentation.
- Prepare procurement reports, purchasing analyses, and cost-saving recommendations for management.
- Assist the inventory or warehouse team with stock monitoring and inventory-related tasks when required.
- Coordinate with the warehouse and other departments to verify stock availability before initiating purchases.
- Provide procurement-related support during inventory reconciliation and stock replenishment activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 1 year experience in purchasing, inventory, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in inventory and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Knowledge of inventory optimization and cost-control strategies.
