Job summary

The role emphasizes monitoring ECC compliance, managing waste streams, overseeing the WWTF, and coordinating with DENR-EMB and agencies to maintain regulatory compliance and safety across the facility.

About the role

This role involves ensuring compliance with DENR environmental laws, regulations, permits, and applicable environmental standards. You will monitor and maintain compliance with the company's Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC), permits, and other environmental requirements, while overseeing the operation and monitoring of the wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) to ensure that wastewater discharge meets applicable standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with DENR environmental laws, regulations, permits, and applicable environmental standards
• Monitor and maintain compliance with the company's Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC), permits, and other environmental requirements
• Prepare and submit required environmental reports and documents to DENR-EMB within prescribed deadlines
• Monitor the proper management, storage, treatment, and disposal of solid waste, hazardous waste, wastewater, and other environmental wastes
• Oversee the operation and monitoring of the wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) and ensure that wastewater discharge meets applicable standards
• Maintain accurate records of environmental monitoring, waste disposal, sampling, manifests, permits, and other compliance documents
• Coordinate with accredited laboratories, waste contractors, DENR-EMB, LGU, and other regulatory agencies when necessary
• Conduct regular environmental inspections and identify potential environmental risks or non-compliance
• Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions for environmental issues
• Conduct employee awareness activities and training on waste segregation, pollution prevention, chemical handling, and environmental protection

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or other related fields
• Must be a DENR-accredited Pollution Control Officer (PCO) or qualified to undergo accreditation, as applicable
• Knowledgeable in DENR regulations, wastewater management, hazardous waste management, solid waste management, and environmental compliance
• Familiarity with ECC, Wastewater Discharge Permit, Hazardous Waste Generator registration, SMR, CMR, and other DENR-EMB reporting requirements
• Good documentation, report-writing, and organizational skills
• Able to conduct environmental inspections, monitoring, and compliance assessments
• Strong coordination and communication skills
• Willing to work onsite and in a manufacturing/plant environment
• Willing to undergo required DENR-EMB training/accreditation if not yet accredited
• Preferably with experience in food manufacturing, industrial, or manufacturing operations
