DATEM INC. is seeking an Environmental Officer to manage the Environmental Management System (EMS) responsibilities on-site. The role includes preparing and submitting EMS documents, monitoring regulatory obligations, and coordinating with DENR/LLDA for environmental issues.
The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree related to environment or construction and at least 3 years of experience in construction and environmental fields, with familiarity of DENR issuances and waste management.
Preparation, submission, monitoring, and timely update of applicable documents pertaining to the Environmental Management System (EMS).
Identification, scheduling, and timely update of all applicable environmental compliance obligations.
Identification of all significant aspects and impacts based on the scope of works, as well as establishment, monitoring and timely update of environmental objectives and programs.
Planning, implementation, and monitoring of all required on-site controls and facilities to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements.
Ensuring that all necessary tests are conducted based on their prescribed frequencies.
Registration of chemical products to be used and submission to the Environment Coordinator for such product to be included in the List of Approved Chemicals.
Application of required environmental permits and timely submission of self-monitoring reports.
Serve as liaison officer with DENR and/or LLDA to address environment-related issues on site.
Coordination with different stakeholders when it comes to proper disposal of on-site waste (including hazardous waste), as well as relevant water and air tests.
Conduct daily inspections on environmental measures and compliance on site.
Preparation and submission of monthly environmental statistics to the Environment Coordinator.
Attendance in monthly EHS meetings which may from time to time be called by management.
Facilitate all applicable environmental trainings / drills that need to be conducted as required by law.
Immediately prepare and submit incident report for environment-related incidents/accidents.
Attendance to IMS internal / external audits whenever necessary.
Bachelor’s degree of any course related to construction and environment.
With Completed the 40-hrs basic training for Pollution Control Officers is preferred.
With at least three (3) years of experience in construction and environmental fields.
Familiar with RA 8749, RA 9275, RA 6969 and other DENR issuances.
Familiarity with existing environmental laws is an advantage.
Competent in environmental monitoring (air, water, waste).
Ability to prepare and submit compliance monitoring and reports.
Knowledgeable in waste management.
