Responsabilidades

• Assist bakers and pastry chefs in preparing bread, cakes, pastries and other baked items according to recipes.
• Measure and combine ingredients to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Operate and maintain baking equipment, following safety protocols.
• Prepare work stations and keep pantry and baking areas clean and organized.
• Assist with inventory: receiving, storing and rotating ingredients.
• Support plating and presentation of finished baked goods.
• Follow health regulations and maintain hygiene standards at all times.
• Assist with general pantry duties including prep, portioning and packaging.
• Collaborate with team to meet production schedules and service needs.
• Report equipment issues or food safety concerns to supervisors promptly.

About the role

Makati (Sports) Club, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pantry/Baker Helper to join our culinary team. This is a full-time position based in Makati City, Metro Manila, where you will support our baking and pantry operations. As a Pantry/Baker Helper, you will play an essential role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our food preparation areas, assisting with the creation of baked goods and pastries that delight our members and guests. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a professional kitchen environment whilst working alongside experienced bakers and chefs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist bakers and pastry chefs in the preparation and production of bread, cakes, pastries and other baked items according to established recipes and standards
• Measure and combine ingredients, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all baking preparations
• Operate and maintain baking equipment, including ovens, mixers and other kitchen machinery, whilst adhering to safety protocols
• Prepare work stations and maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pantry and baking areas throughout the day
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving, storing and rotating ingredients and supplies
• Support the plating and presentation of finished baked goods and pastries
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations at all times
• Assist with general pantry duties, including food preparation, portioning and packaging
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and service requirements
• Report any equipment issues or food safety concerns to supervisory staff immediately

• Previous experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen or food service environment is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene
• Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Reliable, punctual and demonstrate a strong work ethic
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from senior staff members
• Knowledge of food safety practices and basic food handling principles
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, as required by the role
