About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Helper (Baker) to join the hospitality team at CEBU GENERAL SERVICES INC. in Makati City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our bakery and kitchen operations. As a Kitchen Helper (Baker), you will work behind the scenes to ensure the smooth preparation and production of baked goods, contributing directly to the quality of products and services we deliver to our customers. Your attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards will be essential in maintaining our reputation for excellence in the hospitality and tourism sector.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare baking ingredients by measuring, sifting and mixing them according to established recipes and specifications
• Assist in the operation of bakery equipment, including ovens, mixers and proofing units, ensuring they are used correctly and safely
• Monitor baked goods during cooking processes, checking for doneness and removing items from the oven at the appropriate times
• Maintain strict cleanliness and hygiene standards in the bakery area, including cleaning workstations, equipment and utensils between tasks
• Assist experienced bakers in preparing dough, filling pastries, decorating cakes and creating other baked products
• Organise and stock bakery supplies and ingredients in designated storage areas
• Follow all food safety protocols and company policies to ensure compliance with health and sanitation requirements
• Support the kitchen team with general food preparation tasks as needed
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisory staff immediately

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience working in a kitchen, bakery or food preparation environment is highly desirable
• Basic understanding of baking techniques, ingredients and food safety practices
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 kg regularly
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
• Reliable, punctual and able to work flexibly, including early morning shifts if required
• Willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a collaborative team
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read recipes and measurements accurately
• A genuine interest in baking and food preparation
