About the role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Merchandiser/Chicken Cutter (Butcher) to join the team at MKS WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT SERVICES INC. This is a full-time position based in Pasig City, Metro Manila. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, processing, and merchandising poultry products to the highest standards of quality and food safety. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that our products are presented attractively to customers whilst maintaining strict hygiene and safety protocols. This position is essential to our retail operations and directly impacts customer satisfaction and product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Expertly cut, trim, and portion chicken and other poultry products according to company standards and customer specifications
• Prepare poultry products for retail display, ensuring attractive presentation and proper labelling
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in the work area at all times
• Operate and maintain butchery equipment safely and effectively, including cutting tools, slicing machines, and packaging equipment
• Monitor and rotate stock to ensure freshness and compliance with shelf-life requirements
• Weigh and price products accurately using point-of-sale systems and pricing equipment
• Maintain detailed records of inventory, waste, and product usage
• Communicate with team members and management regarding product availability and customer requests
• Clean and sanitise work stations, equipment, and tools in accordance with food safety regulations
• Assist with stock replenishment and organisation of the butchery department

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a butcher, chicken cutter, or in a similar poultry processing role
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards, including HACCP principles where applicable
• Proficiency in operating butchery equipment and hand tools safely and effectively
• Excellent knife skills and hand-eye coordination
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift products weighing up to 25kg regularly
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• A valid food handler's certification or willingness to obtain one
• Attention to product quality and customer satisfaction
• Reliability and punctuality in attendance
