Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd in the Philippines is seeking a Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical to ensure safety, integrity and reliability of Malampaya assets through efficient mechanical maintenance activities. You will lead work preparation, planning, and ensure documentation and compliance with MIAPS and WPSE processes.

Based in Alabang on a 5x2 schedule, the role involves coordinating with operations, supply chain, contractors and vendors to prepare CM work orders, manage budgets, and deliver safe,

Qualifications

• Knowledge of preventive/predictive and corrective maintenance practices and principles including WPSE process.
• Knowledge of industry standards related to mechanical.
• Awareness of gas processing facility hazards and safety standards including risk management, Major accident hazards, Bowtie, ALARP controls and mitigations.
• Strong problem solving and continuous improvement skills.
• Experience with planning systems, SAP or CMMS, and proficiency in MS Office tools including Power BI and Power Automate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare corrective maintenance WOs with complete documentation (work packs, JHA, method statements, etc.).
• Coordinate with Operations, Discipline Engineers, and Technical Authorities for CM work orders.
• Support cost management through proper estimation of resources and materials.
• Engage with Logistics, suppliers and contractors to ensure work readiness.
• Act as relief for lead technicians and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

Purpose:

The Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical ensures safety, integrity and reliability of the Malampaya assets through efficient and timely execution of Mechanical-related maintenance activities to protect asset integrity, personnel safety, and operational continuity, in alignment with PME, WPSE and MIAPS processes.

THE ROLE

Maintenance Work Preparation of assigned Corrective Maintenance Work Orders (WO)

• Effective work preparation and timely planning for simple to medium complexity work orders (WO)
• Provides complete documentation (e.g., work packs, JHA, method statements, GANTT charts, etc.) to ensure first-time-right and safe execution and in compliance to MIAPS Nomination and Activity Readiness Criteria
• Facilitates Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), Implementation Plan on Paper (IPOPs) and conduct site surveys, as required
• Ensure timely update (adhering to 8 Weeks Lookahead/Short term plan and 18 months MT plan) and planning of all corrective maintenance work orders.
• Targeting executability within the specified Basic Start Dates (BSD) and eligibility for nomination into Integrated Activity Planning and scheduler's lookahead before their Latest Allowable Finish Dates (LAFD)
• Raises deferrals and management of change requirements to ensure process and personal safety
• Delivers with safety, cost efficiency and quality assurance embedded in the plan

Coordination

• Continuous engagement with Supply Chain, Logistics, suppliers, and contractors to ensure maintenance job readiness for maintenance execution.
• Coordinates all technical input from Operations, Discipline Engineers, Technical Authorities, and Senior Maintenance Engineers for the development of CM work orders packs, minor plant changes and major repairs
• Responsible for requirements needing coordination with Logistics, Operations, Discipline Engineers, etc.

Continuous Improvement

• Support Cost Management focus based on proper estimation of resources, materials and services.
• Support to other company processes and initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, CIs, HSSE, etc.)

Budget & Cost Management

• Ensures WBS budgets and costs related to corrective maintenance, external recertification and major equipment activities are correct and compliance with PR/PO and invoice processing

Competency Development:

• Adheres to competence portfolio and gap closure plan against FLBM and technical role requirements.

Relief Duties

• Serve as reliever for Lead Technician including roles in emergency response. The schedule may vary: OGP (5x2), SWP (14-14 up to 28/28).

Special Challenges/Job Complexity:

• Handle around 150 corrective maintenance work orders from low to medium complexity
• The role supports activities remotely in Alabang and entails a lot of coordination to sites and a lot of imagination for proper assessment of scopes
• The role requires to work closely with other work preparers which include staff and external vendor/contractors

Working Conditions:

• Role is based in Alabang on 5x2 schedule but in some cases may be called to support any time on any day.
• The role will require visits to the site, especially for remote offshore location with various modes of transport.
• Being at sites will also include risk of exposure to hazards: HC, H2S, Benzene, Mercury, etc.
• There will also be a demand for Lead Tech reliever. The schedule may vary: OGP (5x2), SWP (14-14 up to 28/28).

Effort Requirements:

• Candidate must be able to introduce continuous improvements
• As a state-of-the-art plant producing gas like no other in the country, planning or planning for resources

THE INDIVIDUAL

Skills and Competencies:

• Knowledge in preventive/predictive and corrective maintenance practices and principles including WPSE process
• Knowledge of industry standards related to mechanical
• Awareness in gas processing facility hazards and safety standards including skill in risk management, Major accident hazards, Bowtie, ALARP controls and mitigations
• Skill in problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Have experience and good Planning skills systems, SAP or CMMS, and proficient in using Microsoft Office tools including Co-Pilot, Power BI and Power Automate

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum experience of 3 years in maintenance work, projects, engineering or operations.
• Experience in Oil and Gas industry is an advantage.
