Primary Function:
Responsible for checking, repairing and servicing machinery, equipment, systems and building infrastructure.
Ensures that industrial machinery and equipment runs smoothly and reliably support production.
Responsible for maintaining that the grounds around the plant are clean and tidy.
Major Responsibilities:
- Plans and conducts Preventive Maintenance for all equipment and machines in close coordination with Production Team and other concerned departments.
- Implements the Maintenance and Reliability initiative focused on Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, not reactive.
- Ensure to maintain adequate inventories of tools, supplies and parts to accurately repair all equipment.
- Responsible for providing quick response to breakdowns and ensure that MTBA (Mean Time Between Assist) is observed and driven to continual improvement.
- Repairs equipment and analyzes downtime root cause to improve equipment utilization and to minimize product rejection relating to equipment troubles.
- Responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment and machinery faults.
- Inspect regularly machinery with respect to safety issues
- Conduct proper follow-through on all maintenance issues
- Plan maintenance employees' schedules as per forecasted workloads.
- Ensures compliance to company safety and security standards, procedures and policies.
- Ensure maintenance personnel wears and utilizes all safety equipment correctly.
- Conduct safety inspections as scheduled and completed accurately as required.
- Provides reports to the Plant Manager.
- Ensure to keep cleanliness at shop and storage areas. Supervise regular housekeeping, rubbish removal and disposal of waste around the plant and external grounds.
- Provides close and effective supervision of maintenance and technical staff and ensures compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Responsible for improving manpower flexibility by providing the necessary training (technical and soft skills) in coordination with the HR Department.
- Drives maintenance and engineering related cost initiatives, projects and programs that will reduce operating and production costs, with a particular focus on energy and power utilities, repairs and maintenance consumables and material and maintenance labor costs.
- Measures statistical performance and reliability of equipment.
- Maintains and organize maintenance and engineering financial records, equipment manuals, equipment inventory, plans and layouts.
- Effective Project supervision of capital projects which are assigned to this role by the Maintenance & Engineering Manager.
- Orders and manages stocks of supplies, tooling, jigs, fittings, critical spare parts and equipment.
- Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Graduate of Mechanical Engineering Course.
Must be professionally licensed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Fit and healthy, able to work extended hours at times of critical equipment breakdown.
