Millennium Specialty Coco Products, Inc. is seeking an Inventory & Costing Analyst to ensure accurate recording, valuation, and analysis of inventories and manufacturing costs.
You will support COGM, COGS, product costing, and variances with timely information for management decisions and financial reporting. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 1–2 years in inventory or cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or food-processing setting.
The Inventory & Costing Analyst is responsible for the accurate recording, valuation, and analysis of inventories and manufacturing costs. The position ensures that raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), finished goods, packaging materials, and other applicable inventories are properly accounted for and reconciled with warehouse and production records. The position supports accurate determination of Cost of Goods Manufactured (COGM), Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), product cost, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variances and provides timely cost information to support management decision-making and financial reporting.
Maintain and reconcile inventory records covering raw materials, WIP, finished goods, packaging materials, and other applicable inventories.
Perform regular reconciliation of Finance/ERP inventory records against Warehouse and Production reports and investigate discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly product costing, including raw materials, direct labor, manufacturing overhead, packaging materials, and other production costs.
Prepare and maintain schedules supporting COGM and COGS and reconcile these with the General Ledger.
Review and validate WIP quantities, percentage of completion, and valuation used for month-end financial reporting.
Monitor inventory movements, including receipts, issuances, transfers, production output, returns, adjustments, and other inventory transactions.
Analyze actual production costs, yields, usage, and manufacturing variances and coordinate significant discrepancies with Production, Warehouse, and other concerned departments.
Assist in the proper accounting and monitoring of by-products, production recoveries, rejects, waste, and scrap, in accordance with approved company accounting policies.
Review inventory costs and identify slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, or potentially impaired inventories for management evaluation.
Participate in and validate physical inventory counts and cycle counts and reconcile physical count results against system records.
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, Accounting Technology, Finance, or related field.
Preferably at least 1-2 years of experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, or related Finance functions.
Experience in a manufacturing or food-processing environment is preferred.
