Job Overview
The Industry Research Analyst produces industry- and sector-related data for specificindustry classifications systems. These reports will be supplied according to a setmethodology schedule and are subject to IBISWorld's quality review systems. The roleincludes components of data modelling, forecasting, research, and analysis.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
- Research and compile industry data pertaining to industry classifications as set byIBISWorld. These reports will be supplied according to a set schedule
- Research and compilation of data must follow IBISWorld's standards and methodology requirements
- Research will be subject to IBISWorld quality control procedures
- Address any feedback raised by technical leads and manager as required
- Ad-hoc research tasks as required
Targets / Expectations
- Consistently submit completed datasets within required timeframes
- Adhere to IBISWorld estimation and forecasting methodology and pass all dataquality tests
- Resolve any data quality issues within the required time frame
- Proactively communicate with the Technical Lead and Director of Data Operationsregarding any training or support needs
Qualifications and Requirements
Key Skills/Abilities
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Well-developed time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Computer literacy, particularly MS Excel, and the use of the internet and generativeAI as a research source
- Understanding of economic issues
- Familiarity with public and government information sources
- Ability to work autonomously while still collaborating with the team
- Acute attention to detail
Education and Experience
- Tertiary degree in economic research, econometrics/statistical analysis, finance,market research, accounting, business or demonstrated equivalent analytical skills
- Previous research experience, particularly in the disciplines of economic analysis, market research, and/or company analysis highly regarded
- Experience in compiling information from diverse sources, such as official sources,company reports, industry contacts, internet-sourced material, news sources, etc.
