About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and analytical Product & Innovation Analyst to support product research, data analysis, product development and business improvement initiatives.
Working closely with the Product & Innovation Manager, you will research market and product opportunities, analyse business data, coordinate product development activities, and provide clear insights to support informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Market Research
- Research pumping, water treatment and infrastructure products, technologies, suppliers and emerging solutions.
- Monitor competitor products, pricing, supply chains and market trends.
- Maintain a structured product intelligence library.
- Prepare concise research summaries, comparisons and business cases.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, cleanse and analyse product, sales, warranty, supplier and cost data.
- Develop and maintain Excel models, dashboards and reporting packs.
- Identify trends, opportunities and exceptions to support business decisions.
- Ensure analysis is accurate and reconciled with source systems.
Product Development Support
- Support new product introductions from concept and feasibility through to release.
- Maintain product specifications, datasheets, technical documentation and version control.
- Coordinate supplier information, quotations, samples, lead times and compliance documentation.
- Track development activities, timelines and deliverables through to completion.
Administration & Coordination
- Maintain document control, records and filing for the Product & Innovation function.
- Prepare presentations, comparison tables and supporting materials for meetings.
- Coordinate product-related meetings, record actions and follow up on deliverables.
- Liaise with Engineering, Sales, Estimating and Purchasing teams on product-related queries and information requests.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and business efficiency.
- Maintain accurate performance metrics and reporting.
- Handle commercially sensitive product, pricing and supplier information with discretion.
- Follow company policies, procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, Commerce, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an analytical, research, business support or product administration role.
- Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, data cleansing and charting.
- Strong written English and the ability to turn complex information into concise summaries.
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
- Comfortable working with a Perth-based manager and collaborating across time zones.
- Proactive approach to communication, problem-solving and follow-through.
Desirable
- Experience with pumps, mechanical or electrical equipment, water treatment or industrial products.
- Experience supporting new product introductions or maintaining technical documentation.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools.
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or distribution environment.
