Job summary

Black & White Engineering in Manila is seeking a Hydraulics Engineer to support design calculations, reports and documents under the guidance of senior engineers. You will contribute to hydraulic design across live projects and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet client specifications.

Based in our Manila office, you will develop working knowledge of international codes (IPC, UPC, NFPA, EN, ASHRAE) and progress toward MCIBSE, MIEE or chartered status with support from the firm.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in engineering; working towards MCIBSE, MIEE or chartered status.
• 2-3 years of experience in hydraulics, public health or fire protection systems design.
• Knowledge of IPC/UPC/NFPA/EN codes and ASHRAE standards.
• Basic Revit and CAD knowledge; MS Office and IT-based calculation tools.
• Familiarity with FM Global and VdS is advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines within a multidisciplinary team.

Are you an engineer with a background in data centres and hydraulic systems looking to develop your skills across international projects?

This is a role for someone who is proactive, eager to learn and committed to growing their technical expertise in a specialist discipline.

As Hydraulics Engineer, you will support the development of design, calculations, reports and documents under the guidance of senior engineers, ensuring project requirements and client specifications are met.

Based in our Manila office, you will report to a Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer or Associate Director, and build your technical skills and professional standing within a multidisciplinary design team.

Essential Skills and Experience

• BSc/BEng (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline, working towards MCIBSE, MIEE or chartered engineer status.
• 2-3 years of working experience in hydraulics, public health or fire protection systems design.
• Working knowledge of international plumbing and fire codes including IPC, UPC, NFPA, EN codes and ASHRAE standards.
• Basic working knowledge of Revit and CAD, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT-based calculation tools.
• Familiarity with insurer requirements such as FM Global and VdS is an advantage.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload, deliver accurate documentation to deadlines and contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
