Job summary

Black & White Engineering in Manila is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Manila team, with at least three years' experience in design and analysis of building structures, especially for technology and data centre projects.

You will develop structural designs for new builds and refurbishments, liaise with other disciplines, and work with senior engineers to grow your expertise while upholding quality and meeting deadlines within a collaborative, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or sufficient equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years technical experience specialising in the design and analysis of building structures.
• Experience working in an engineering team, preferably within the technology or data centre industry.
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles, including Eurocodes and American codes.
• Familiar with BIM, Revit and other coordination tools such as Navisworks and Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of designing structural members based on international codes and standards, including Eurocodes and American codes.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural designs for new build and refurbishment projects and ensure coordination with other disciplines.
• Liaise with other disciplines to produce a coordinated design, conducting multidisciplinary coordination, project reporting and documentation.
• Represent the company both internally and externally, author documents such as letters and reports, and ensure quality and timely delivery.

Are you a Structural Engineer looking to work on technically challenging data centre projects as part of a growing global team? Then this role is for you.

Due to our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Structural Engineer to join our Manila team, ideally with at least three years’ experience in the design and analysis of building structures from concept through to construction, particularly within the technology and data centre industry.

You’ll work as part of a team on technically challenging projects, developing structural designs for new build and refurbishment projects and liaising with other disciplines to produce a coordinated design.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or sufficient equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years technical experience specialising in the design and analysis of building structures.
• Experience working in an engineering team, preferably within the technology or data centre industry.
• Strong grasp of structural engineering principles, including mechanics and material behaviour.
• Knowledge of designing structural members based on international codes and standards, including Eurocodes and American codes.
• Knowledge of using software such as Autodesk Revit, Tekla and Robot Structural Analysis.
• Able to conduct structural analysis using commercial software packages such as ETABS, TSD, Prokon and TEDDS.
• Familiar with BIM, Revit and other coordination tools such as Navisworks and Bluebeam.
• Good knowledge of Eurocodes.
• Good communication, presentation and mathematical skills.
• Able to manage own workload and work effectively as part of a team.
• Team player who can work independently, with a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and adaptability to new tools and processes.
• Ability to work in an evolving market where new technologies can be embraced.
