Job summary

Black & White Engineering, based in Manila, is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer with hands-on HVAC design experience to lead mechanical building services projects across data centre and critical infrastructure portfolios. You will own projects, ensure design accuracy, and deliver robust, compliant outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of hands-on HVAC design experience across data centres and commercial developments.
• Proficiency in mechanical design software (E20, Hevacomp, Pipe Flo).
• Experience with equipment selection (Flaktwoods, Grundfos, Nuaire).
• Knowledge of UK, ASHRAE and CIBSE standards; health & safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead small projects from design through delivery, ensuring calculations and drawings meet standards.
• Work on technically demanding data centre projects requiring precision and reliability.
• Validate input from engineers and contribute to their development and leadership growth.
• Represent the company in client meetings and with professional teams and contractors.

Are you a mechanical engineer with hands‑on HVAC design experience and a passion for technically demanding projects?

Based in our Manila office, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering mechanical building services design across a portfolio of data centre and critical infrastructure projects, taking ownership of your projects and contributing to outcomes that are precise, practical and built to last.

This is a role for an experienced engineer who is ready to take on greater responsibility, develop their leadership skills and grow within a global consultancy.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Degree in Mechanical Building Services Engineering or equivalent, with competence in specification design and drawing across multiple building types.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on HVAC design experience across project types including data centres, high‑rise, hotels, commercial and mixed‑use developments.
• Proficiency in mechanical design software including E20, Hevacomp and Pipe Flo, alongside equipment selection tools such as Flaktwoods, Grundfos and Nuaire.
• Working knowledge of international standards including UK, ASHRAE and CIBSE, with a sound understanding of health and safety legislation.
• Experience working on Dubai or UK projects is an advantage.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload, deliver to deadlines and take ownership of the accuracy of your work.
