Black & White Engineering in Makati is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Global Engineering Team. Are you a senior mechanical engineer with a strong background in data centre design looking for a role with genuine global reach? As Senior Mechanical Engineer within our Global Engineering Team in Makati, you will work at the heart of how Black & White Engineering develops and maintains its mechanical design standards, supporting design development, standardisation and innovation across the business worldwide.

This is a role for a technically excellent engineer who thinks beyond individual projects and wants to influence how great mechanical design is done at a global level.

Work at the frontier of data centre design

You will prepare flexible test-fit layouts to meet hyperscale client requirements, support DC site development planning and work directly with our R&D team to research the latest technologies and products. It is a technically demanding brief that keeps you at the leading edge of mechanical engineering in the sector.

Drive standardisation and consistency

You will define technical decision gateways, support the bid process and review technical proposals to ensure they meet client requirements to the required standard. If you take satisfaction in making complex processes clearer and more consistent across a global team, this role gives you the mandate to do exactly that.

Develop the engineers around you

You will mentor and supervise junior and graduate engineers, sharing your expertise and helping to build mechanical design capability across the team. It is an opportunity to develop your own leadership skills and extend the reach of your technical knowledge across the business.

A truly global role

Based in Makati, your primary focus will be supporting the Global Engineering Team across offices worldwide. You will collaborate with engineers and design leads across multiple regions, building relationships and contributing to a standard of mechanical design excellence that carries the Black & White name globally.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Licensed Mechanical Engineer status is preferred.
• 7 to 10 years of proven experience in a multidisciplinary design consultancy, with strong data centre design experience.
• Proficiency in mechanical systems design including chilled and heating water systems, ventilation systems and fuel systems. Knowledge of sanitary, plumbing and fire protection systems is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of design software including HAP, PipeFlo, Navisworks or Bluebeam.
• Sound knowledge of British Standards and relevant international codes and standards applicable to mechanical design.
• Proven ability to mentor junior and graduate engineers, with a collaborative approach and strong communication skills.
