Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Staffing Support: assist in preparing recruitment documents and posting vacancies.
  • Employee Records & HR Documentation: assist in organizing and maintaining employee records and HR databases.
  • Timekeeping & Attendance: assist with monitoring attendance and timekeeping records.
  • Onboarding & Employee Engagement: support new-hire Orientation and engagement activities.
  • Employee Relations & HR Operations: observe and assist in routine HR activities under supervision.
  • Manufacturing HR Exposure: learn how HR supports production workforce requirements and scheduling.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A graduating HRM or related-course student who is dependable, curious, willing to travel, comfortable in a manufacturing environment, eager to learn, and ready to take on challenges - with the commitment to stay long enough to gain meaningful hands‑on HR experience.

Overall Objective

The primary objective of the internship is to provide the trainee with meaningful, practical, and well‑rounded exposure to Human Resources in an actual furniture manufacturing environment, allowing the trainee to connect academic knowledge with real‑world HR practices while developing professional competence, work discipline, communication skills, and confidence.

Supervision

The HR Trainee will work under the supervision of the HR Department / designated HR supervisor. Tasks involving confidential employee information, disciplinary matters, compensation, or other sensitive HR concerns shall be performed only under appropriate supervision and within the trainee's authorized level of responsibility.

Duration of Immersion

Preferred: A longer OJT/ immersion period is highly encouraged, as extended exposure will allow the trainee to experience more areas of HR and gain a deeper understanding of the company's people, culture, systems, and manufacturing operations.

The actual schedule and duration shall be based on the trainee's academic requirements, school policies, and mutual agreement with the company.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or preferably graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or other related courses.
  • Required to complete an OJT/internship program as part of the academic curriculum, if applicable.
  • Preferably available for a longer period of immersion, as extended exposure will provide greater opportunities for learning and hands‑on experience.
  • Lives nearby the company or is willing and able to travel to and from the workplace regularly.
  • Willing to learn, ask questions, accept feedback, and take on new challenges.
  • Responsible, dependable, organized, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Has good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing/ factory environment and interacting with employees from different departments and levels.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google software is an advantage.

  • Assist in preparing and organizing recruitment documents.
  • Help post job vacancies through appropriate channels.
  • Assist in screening resumes and applications based on established criteria.
  • Coordinate with applicants regarding interview schedules and requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining recruitment trackers and applicant records.
  • Observe and learn the recruitment and selection process.
  • Employee Records & HR Documentation
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining employee 201 files and HR records.
  • Help update employee information and HR databases.
  • Assist in preparing HR forms, documents, reports, and filing systems.
  • Practice proper handling and confidentiality of employee information.
  • Timekeeping & Attendance
  • Assist with monitoring and organizing attendance and timekeeping records.
  • Help consolidate attendance-related information for HR review.
  • Gain exposure to common attendance, tardiness, leave, and scheduling processes.
  • Onboarding & Employee Engagement
  • Assist in preparing requirements and materials for new employees.
  • Support new-hire orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Assist in employee engagement activities, company events, and internal programs.
  • Help prepare communication materials and announcements when needed.
  • Employee Relations & HR Operations
  • Observe and assist in routine HR employee‑relations activities under proper supervision.
  • Help communicate HR policies, procedures, and reminders to employees.
  • Assist in gathering information and documentation for HR‑related concerns.
  • Develop an understanding of workplace discipline, employee welfare, and company policies.
  • Manufacturing HR Exposure

The trainee will be encouraged to gain firsthand understanding of the relationship between HR and manufacturing operations, including:

  • Production workforce requirements and staffing.
  • Employee deployment and scheduling.
  • Workplace culture and employee relations within a factory setting.
  • Coordination between HR, production, warehouse, quality, administration, and other departments.
  • The importance of safety, attendance, productivity, teamwork, and employee welfare in manufacturing.
